The first week has gotten us off to a great start! Your students came prepared and ready for their new adventure, and you all had smiles on your faces as you looked toward a new freedom you may not have seen for two months. We especially appreciate your flexibility with our temporary drop off and pick up routine. Unfortunately, it will continue as work was stalled this week due to gas line issues. This is why we teach our kids “flexibility”!

    New Announcements:

    7. Get involved by being a classroom parent rep - We still need classroom parent reps for many classrooms. The rep acts as the bridge for communication between the teacher/PTSA and parents. Also, the rep helps the teacher organize class parties, supports teacher appreciation efforts and organizes the classroom auction item. If you would like to help out, please email homeroomrep@hazelwolfk8.org. The following classes still need a rep:
    *Kindergarten: Ms. Turek, Ms. Morales
*Second Grade: Mr. Musser, Ms. Dorje
*Fourth Grade: Ms. Holland, Ms. Grandbois
    *8th Grade homeroom rep

    8. Join the MS Overnight Outdoor Ed Program Planning Committee - We need 3 or 4 volunteers to help us plan and prepare for an 8th grade camping trip in the spring 2020. Volunteers should have experience with camping in the PNW and an interest in creating a sustainable, affordable, and engaging experience for MS kids. Monthly volunteer meetings: September to February. Meet as needed March to May, until the program launches in mid-May to early June. Volunteers are encouraged, though not expected, to attend the overnight program as chaperones.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact: Mr. Fogarty, E-STEM Coordinator, jcbaileyfogart@seattleschools.org.
