I hope all of you have a wonderful winter break! Please remember that this Friday, Dec 16th, school is out at 2:25. Also, because of New Years Day being on a Sunday, there is no school on Monday January 2nd.

All School Announcements

  1. Field Trips/Classroom Volunteering – If you are possibly thinking about volunteering on a field trip or in the classroom, get started on your paperwork if you haven’t.  The process takes a few weeks, and we are not able to speed it up even for special circumstances.  Ms. Yolanda Jackson oversees this and can be reached at yljackson@seattleschools.org 
  2. Classroom Directory: Please respond yes or no to your teacher regarding your information being placed in the classroom directory. (We cannot include your information without your consent.) We would like to finish up our class contact lists so we can get the classroom representative program going. Please respond to your teacher, we appreciate your help in finalizing the directory.

Hall of Fame Team Camp After School Programs: Session 3 Registration is open!

Hall of Fame Team Camp provides on-site after-school childcare and enrichment to Hazel Wolf families.  Session 2 ends on Friday, December 16th and Session 3 kicks off on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Fall Jerseys Needed – If you played Ultimate or Girls Soccer please return your child’s jersey ASAP (preferably clean of course)!

PTSA Sponsored Events

  1. Read-A-Thon: Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2022 Read-A-Thon! We are proud of all our readers and appreciate the parents and adults who support them, our generous donors, and the community at large that rallied to show their support! With your help we raised over $21,000 and beat our goal! Those funds support many vital programs at Hazel Wolf including our tutoring programs, Racial Equity teams, after school enrichment programs, and so much more. Also, a big thank you to our local sponsors: KJ’s Koffee, Zylberschtein’s, Pagliacci Pizza, and Wild Waves. Stay tuned for prize announcements coming soon!
  2. Amazon Smile – an easy way to help Hazel Wolf!: Just a reminder to set up an Amazon Smile account, or change your current account, so that it benefits the Hazel Wolf PTSA.  The Amazon Smile Foundation donates 0.5% of the purchase from all your eligible purchases to Hazel Wolf! Funds raised are used to support tutors, outdoor learning, after school enrichment programs, our Racial Equity Teams, and more! Learn more about what these funds can support.
  3. Family Support Thank you: Thank you to our wonderful Hazel Wolf community for all your generous donations to our recent coat drive and snack drive. Your generosity is appreciated!!! 
  4. Let’s Go Skating!! Planning to go ice skating this winter? The Bellevue Ice Rink will make a $3 donation to the PTSA for each paid admission, just mention “Hazel Wolf” at the ticket counter. Visit the Bellevue Ice Rink site for for reservation dates & times, pricing and special events. Families can make it a night of holiday fun with a visit to Snowflake Lane at The Bellevue Collection and stroll through Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
  5. Staff Appreciation – thank you to our community: Wow the community filled the staff room with pies, the PTSA and staff are so thankful for all the pies that were received. As always our community showed up for our staff.  The staff really likes this event and is so appreciative for your continued support and staff donations. We will continue to work with staff to assure we are only hosting events they enjoy! Stay tuned for our next event. 
  6. Classroom library book wish lists: The PTSA would like to keep the classroom wish lists open and active throughout the year. When you buy from these lists you are supporting classroom libraries!  In addition, 10% of proceeds go to our librarian Dr. V to buy books throughout the year and you are supporting the wonderful small bookstore Blue Kettle books.

  2. Volunteer with the PTSA Board: Are you interested in getting more involved with the PTSA-we’re a cool group doing amazing things, come join us. We welcome ALL caregivers to join us in supporting our school. The following positions are open:
  • Vice President
  • Secretary 
  • Communications support (non-board position)
  • Snack Drive and Food Drive (non-board position)
  • Legislative/Advocacy
