All School Announcements

Hazel Wolf’s Birthday Gift – Did you get your seed packet? If not, ask your child. Hazel Wolf and the PTSA gifted every child a packet of pollinator-friendly seeds that will help us all bee the change. Happy 125th birthday, Hazel Wolf!

Jump Start – We are thrilled that jump start will be happening for our incoming kindergartners! Thank you to our anonymous donor and staff who found creative ways to fund this program. We’re facing a large SPS budget deficit this year. Because of your donation to the Direct Appeal, admin can be creative and use funds to maintain programs that the district has cut. We are asking $125 per student but if you are able to give more please do!

Use of Playground to create community – The Hazel Wolf playground is open on the weekend! Please feel free to gather with friends and set up playdates so you can meet other parents. If you encounter the playground not being accessible on the weekend, please email Debbie. We are hoping to make the playground open at other times during the week as well. Stay tuned!

Front Parking Lot – When dropping off or picking up students, please don’t park in the upper lot blocking other vehicles. It’s a small area without much room to maneuver.

Elementary Announcements

“The Musical Note” – Families of second and third grade students: Mark your calendars for May 24th. We will be having our grade level concert themed “Let’s Go to the Movies” at 6:30 that evening. More details to come.

Hello from Dr. V in the Hazel Wolf library!  Because we are a K-8 library, we have books that have been designated for Middle School students only (they have a yellow barcode) due to more mature content (e.g. language, violence, more explicit romantic situations, etc.).  If an elementary student would like to check out one of these books, they first need to get permission from a parent.  If you would like your student to be able to check out these books, please email Dr. V elvaldez@seattleschools.org

Middle School Announcements

Global Reading Challenge-ish for Middle School!  Dr. V and the other K-8 librarians are going to pilot a GRC for Middle School students this Spring.  If your MS student is interested in joining us for some fun reads and trivia challenges, sign up with Dr. V this week in the library.

PTSA Sponsored Events

Hazel Wolf Direct Appeal – Have you donated to the PTSA Direct Appeal? We need your help funding important programs like tutoring and outdoor learning. In order to reach the needed amount of $75,000, the giving deadline has been extended. If $125 is donated for each student, all programs can be funded.

Hazel Wolf K-8 Family Night at the Mariners : The Hazel Wolf Mariners Night on April 1 is sold out.  We sold 200 tickets! But wait – Sabra is hoping to schedule additional nights, so stay tuned!
