All School Announcements

1.No Costumes – Just a reminder that we do not dress up for Halloween, and please limit the amount of candy which comes to school.

2.Conferences – Sign ups will be coming soon!

3.Student Illness – It is that time of year and colds, flu, RSV and COVID are all around us. Please see the attached symptom flow chart for deciding when to test and/or keep your student home. If you need access to tests, please reach out to Cammy. Even if your student has tested negative for flu, RSV and/or COVID and they continue to have significant symptoms (fever, deep or very frequent cough, runny nose, sore throat or congestion) they need to stay home. They can return to school if no fever within the past 24 hours and not on medication and also when their other symptoms have significantly improved.

Contact Nurse Kelly or Cammy with questions.

4.Spring Musical Information for 4th-8th Grade Families (Reminder) – Keep an eye out for an invitation to an informational meeting during conference week to find out more about our spring musical: Disney The Little Mermaid Jr. We will discuss the audition process, how to help with tech and stage crew, and chat about some needs we will have for parents/guardians/students like costuming and set design.

5.Veteran’s Day Family Slideshow (Reminder) – There will be a slideshow sharing photos of Military Veterans from student families at the Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 9th. If you have a military veteran in your family, and you’d like to share their photo, please send the digital photo file to Ms. Sullivan on or before November 4th: rasullivan@seattleschools.org; and please include the following information: Family Member’s Name, Branch of Military, Relationship to Student, Student’s Name and Grade. Thanks to the Hazel Wolf PTSA, Blue Kettle Books, Seattle’s newest “bookstore on wheels,” will be in the school parking lot Saturday November 5th, 11am-4pm during the 1st annual ski swap, selling brand new, curated books for all ages. Come inside the “magic bookmobile” and shop for your next favorite page turner. Can’t make it to the in-person bookmobile that day? Don’t worry — you can continue to shop online, November 5th through December 1st.  Shop for yourself or purchase books for teacher classroom wish lists. Best of all, Blue Kettle Books is donating 10% of all book fair sales to the school library.  Below are the links to teacher wish lists, when you purchase a book from a list, that book will be delivered to Hazel Wolf 😊

*Hazel Wolf Ski Swap November 5th (Reminder) – The time for the ski swap will be 11am-4pm, and we will have vendors on site selling new ski and snowboard gear, as well as new and gently used winter apparel. Get ready to get outfitted for winter and help raise money for our school! Skis, boots, hats, jackets, gloves, and more!

We know everyone has gear from last year that your kiddos outgrew! We are looking for gently used winter gear that Hazel Wolf families would like to consign. Consignment drop off is available Thursday 11/3 and Friday 11/4 from 3pm – 5pm outside the main HW entrance. Bring us your gear, tell us what you’d like to sell it for, and we’ll handle the rest! Interested in volunteering for the Hazel Wolf Ski Swap? Sign up
