All School Announcements

Message from Dr. Breuder:

It is hard to believe that it is the end of September! This first month of school flew by.  I took my son to college, which has opened up a new experience for me as a mom….giving him space and not hovering over him (he is attending the University of Washington), while adjusting to life at home with my daughter.  We have been a family of three for so long, so having just two of us at home is an adjustment.

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day. Monday, September 30, marks the day of remembrance and education of the residential school system and impact on Indigenous communities.

Curriculum Nights: Please note the Curriculum Nights scheduled for Middle School (October 1) and Elementary (October 9).

Dropoff and pickup: Just a few reminders about the busy times of drop-off and pickup:

  • Please help maintain our relationships with our neighbors by following the identified flow of traffic.  We know that these are especially busy times of the day, so please leave a little extra time.
  • Please do not cut through the parking lots of the neighboring businesses , including Peak Sports and Spine Physical Therapy, as this has been impacting the clientele (which includes many injured and older patients) of their business.
  • You will see our Safety Patrol out during drop-off and pick-up.  These students have volunteered to help keep our community safe, so please help them by following their directions.

We’ll be adding more in the coming months, with contributions from the community. Our beloved wall is very much a team effort – if you’d like to get involved, reach out to hwgreenguardians@gmail.com.

Lost & Found: Photos and videos of items currently in the Lost & Found are stored in a shared Google album. The Lost & Found is located just off the front office area. Parents may access it anytime during office hours; please check in at the front desk. Students are encouraged to check it before or after school. This year, items left in the Lost & Found for more than 4 weeks will be purged. Items will be left out on the front benches for a few days, and unclaimed items will be donated to Kidvantage.
