Message from Dr. Breuder:
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Winter Break. I spent some time in Mexico with my partner, Steve, and with my family. It was so nice to get away to the sun and to rest and unplug.
As we go into January, I am looking forward to getting back to our routines of school. This month, we have a number of things happening at Hazel Wolf. Middle Schoolers have the opportunity to participate in a Student Leadership Workshop on January 22nd. Buddy Day is on January 15th. We have Martin Luther King, Jr. Day assemblies planned for elementary and middle school students. Additionally, we are preparing for the budget and staffing process, which will officially start in February. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks!
Enjoy this last bit of Winter Break!
Middle School News:
Leadership Workshop: Hazel Wolf middle school students have the opportunity to participate in a Leadership Workshop on Wednesday, January 22nd. This workshop is through WSPEF (Washington School Principals’ Education Foundation). This workshop will focus on student leadership, student government, and Associated Student Body (ASB).
- Day/Time: Wednesday, January 22nd, 9:00-11:30am
- Location: Hazel Wolf K-8
How do students sign up?
Students were given information in Packs on Wednesday, December 18th, which included an online form to show interest in attending this workshop. Please note that students who attend this workshop will miss 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods on January 22nd.
Middle School Sports Update:
Basketball games are scheduled to start on January 11th. Times and places still TBD. As soon as we know more, we will let you know!
Please encourage your students to do grade checks by Wednesday afternoon each week. Failure to do so will result in no play time in the games.
We are still looking for volunteers to help with both girls’ and boys’ basketball. You must be a cleared volunteer to help.
Interested in coaching Volleyball? Let us know.

Special thanks to this year’s generous corporate sponsors: Childish Things, Emerald City Boxing Club, Endeavor One, Little Fish Swim School, Vitalitree, and Woolly Clothing Co. If you need an interpreter for this meeting, please let us know via president@hazelwolfk8.org. Childcare will be provided for Hazel Wolf students.
K-5 Glow Dance, January 31st, 6:30-8:30pm, Cafetorium
