Message from Dr. Breuder:
This week our K-5 students attended assemblies to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle school students will attend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly on Wednesday. This week is also Lunar New Year (Wednesday). Students learned about Lunar New Year in classes and in buddies earlier this month. K-5 students will attend a Lunar New Year assembly next week. (Thank you to the PTSA for helping fund these assemblies!)
I spoke briefly at the PTSA meeting last Wednesday about things happening at Hazel Wolf. I will share more at the Principal Chat this Thursday, January 30th, at noon. This is an online meeting on Teams. I will record the meeting and send out the link for those who cannot attend. Here is the Teams link: Join Principal Teams Chat 1/30/25
Second Semester starts on Wednesday for middle schoolers. Please note that the schedules are still not yet finalized, as some of the details are still being worked out. We will get final schedules to students by Wednesday. Please also note that we are not making schedule changes unless it is a case where content-area courses are being impacted or other errors have been made. Requests for schedule changes will not be made. Scheduling is a very complicated process, and as a middle school that is part of a K-8 school, the process is even more complicated. We have a certain number of electives available to students. Our scheduling team has worked very hard to get students into one of their top three elective choices this year.
Class Picture Day: Yuen Lui Studio will photograph class group photos and new student portraits at Hazel Wolf K-8 on Tuesday, January 28th.
- Students who are present at the time of their group photo will be pictured in their class group photos; students who are absent at the time of their photo will be listed as not pictured.
- There is no need to place an order at this time. Every student will receive one 8×10 class group print at no charge as part of our yearbook services. We will share a link to order additional class group prints after the images are processed for anyone who would like to purchase them.
- New students and those who missed both picture days are welcome to have their portrait taken for the yearbook. Students who had their first photo taken on retake day due to camp are welcome to get a retake (please note that the retake will replace the original portrait in the yearbook).; families can view and order portraits after January 28 via this link (the online code is your student’s SPS ID number): 2024-25 Hazel Wolf K-8 School – Online Code = SPS Student ID #
In February, we have a number of opportunities for prospective families to learn about Hazel Wolf.
