Message from Dr. Breuder:

Parking and traffic flow: Please help support the safety of our community by following the drop-off and pick-up reminders.   Additionally, please help us maintain good relationships with our neighbors (especially on Thursdays, which is garbage/recycle day) by not parking in front of driveways, mailboxes, or garbage/recycle/compost bins.

  • The flow of drop-off and pick-up traffic goes one way from Pinehurst onto 12th and turns right onto 117th.  Please do not park on 12th Ave. or 117th.
  • Please drop off your student in the drop-off zones.  Dropping off students in other areas can create unnecessary traffic backups.
  • If you are in the drop-off zone, please pay attention and move up with the flow of traffic.  Traffic needs to keep moving, so if you need to stop for a longer period of time, please park elsewhere.
  • As you drop your student off, please wait for the cars in front of you to move instead of trying to get around them.  This is a safety hazard to have cars pulling around other cars.
  • If you are planning to walk your child to/from campus, please park on a different street.
  • A Hazel Wolf staff member and Safety Patrol members are at the traffic circle in the morning and afternoon to help direct traffic and to help pedestrians safely cross the streets.  Please make sure to follow their directions.

Attendance:

We wanted to follow up on the attendance policy found here that all families signed at the start of the school year.

Please note that our school year is set up to maximize the number of days in our stated school year. As we start to enter the holiday season, making travel plans that require your child to miss school is disruptive and can make your child fall behind. For older grades it is the responsibility of the student to keep up with their classes, including communicating with teachers, and turning in assignments. Teachers are not required to make accommodations for absences involving extended trips or other planned absence.

Thank you for supporting your child and academics and with their mental health.

Please reference here for more attendance information from the district.

If you do plan to miss 3 or more days, please fill out this form at least three days prior.

Thank you,

Ms. Traci

Volunteering at Hazel Wolf:

Thank you for your continued patience with the new SPS volunteer requirements.  The most updated information we have about this process includes the following:

  1.  Volunteers need to have volunteer clearance paperwork cleared by SPS (including a background check) + attend a Volunteer Orientation.
  2. All Volunteers need to sign into the Verkada kiosk in the main office.  Volunteers will NOT be turned away if names are not in Verkada, however please make sure you have completed all parts in step #1.

Upcoming Volunteer Orientations: Here are the upcoming dates and Teams link:

November 35:00pm
December 49:30am

Athletics:

Please, parents, remind students to turn in their grade checks to stay eligible for games.

If you think your student will participate in winter sports (basketball – girls and boys), now is a good time to get their head and physical exams completed.

Thank you for helping keep our student athletes on track!

If you have any questions about athletics or registration, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Membership does NOT commit you to attending meetings or volunteering.
