Message from Dr. Breuder:
Happy first day of March!
As I mentioned last week, we are now in the budget/staffing process for the 2026-27 school year. The allocations that we receive are based on projected enrollment. Here is the projected enrollment for Hazel Wolf K-8:
| Projected 2026-27 | |
| K | 78 |
| 1st | 81 |
| 2nd | 76 |
| 3rd | 80 |
| 4th | 87 |
| 5th | 87 |
| 6th | 84 |
| 7th | 86 |
| 8th | 86 |
| 745 |
Based on this projected enrollment, here is the summary of the staffing allocation changes. These allocations include some reductions, as well as increases in other areas.
Additions:
- 2.5 teachers (K-3)
- 0.5 teacher (4-5)
- 0.5 Elementary Specialists
- 0.3 Middle School teachers
- 1.0 Assistant Principal
Reductions:
- 0.2 Counselor
- 0.5 Special Education teacher
- 1.0 Special Education Paraprofessional
These allocations have many implications and impacts, and we are working through all the logistics of those changes. We will continue to keep families updated as we move through this budget/staffing process. I will share more information at the PTSA General meeting on March 26th, as well.
This process can be stressful and bring about many emotions, so please let us know if you have questions. It is complex and we have to take many factors into consideration when creating a budget and programs that are best for our students and community.
Request from the Literacy Intervention Program
We are in need of Kleenex and wipes for our literacy intervention groups in grades K-3. If you are able to donate, please drop off items at the office for Ms. Projansky. Please leave your name, too, so she can thank you!

Athletics:
Hello Hazel Wolf Families,
Spring sports registration is now open! Students can sign up for:
- Boys Soccer
- Girls Volleyball
- Co-Ed Track & Field
Track & Field is scheduled to begin the week of March 23rd.
Boys Soccer and Girls Volleyball will begin around the same time. I am waiting for final confirmation from the district and coaches and will share exact start dates as soon as they are available.
To register, please use FinalForms.
Remember, sports physicals are valid for two years.
If your student has already participated in a sport this school year and would like to join a spring sport, simply send me an email letting me know. I can move them into the spring sport on FinalForms.
