Message from Dr. Breuder:

Happy December! This month is Universal Human Rights month, and December 10th is designated Human Rights Day, which commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10th, 1948, by the United Nations General Assembly.  As I think about my goals for myself both personally (as a parent) and professionally (as an educator), I have always had the goal of supporting the growth and development of of good humans.  Being a good human matters.  Not only believing this but showing this through actions and behavior is important.  I want all of our students to leave Hazel Wolf as good humans, being able to show character traits such as compassion, empathy, kindness, and to be able to care for one our community.  Knowing that we all have human rights and not only supporting but advocating for those human rights is part of being a good citizen.  I believe that we have so much power both individually and collectively to do what’s right in caring for others.  In the words of Barack Obama, “So, on this Human Rights Day, let us rededicate ourselves to the advancement of human rights and freedoms for all, and pledge always to live by the ideals we promote to the world.”

Multilingual Enrollment Night (January 8th): SPS has changed the Open Enrollment window to January 5-31.  We are hosting a Multilingual Enrollment Night here at Hazel Wolf on Thursday, January 8th, from 5:30-7:30pm.  We will have interpreters and an enrollment specialist onsite at that event to help families with the enrollment process.

Attendance:

We wanted to follow up on the attendance policy found here that all families signed at the start of the school year.

Please reference here for more attendance information from the district.

If you do plan to miss 3 or more days, please fill out this form at least three days prior.

Thank you,

Ms. Traci

Athletics:

Families can now sign up for basketball using FinalForms.
Remember that sports physicals are valid for two years, so if your student completed one last year, you do not need a new one this season.

We are also looking for a Girls Basketball Coach!
If you or someone you know is interested, please email me directly.

Thank you,

Join the PTSA as a voting member! Everyone – parents, caregivers, extended family, community members – is encouraged to join the PTSA. Membership does NOT commit you to attending meetings or volunteering. Our goal is to have at least one family member join the PTSA for each student, so we can continue to align our budget and initiatives to our community’s needs.

Stay Updated: Our school’s volunteer-driven Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) strives to build community, support school programs, and help families stay connected through events, fundraisers & more! Here’s how to keep in touch with what’s happening:
