All School Announcements

Message from Dr. Breuder:

SPS has set aside specific days for conferences. These are the times set aside for Hazel Wolf conferences.

  • Thursday, November 21, 4-8 p.m.
  • Monday, November 25, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 26, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

K-5 families: Your child’s classroom teacher will send out schedules so you can sign up for conferences. This schedule will come out by the end of they day on Tuesday, November 12.

Middle school families: We are doing an “arena” style conference program, which means all middle school teachers will be located in the cafeteria for arena conference times. Families can meet with individual teachers (short conferences) during assigned times based on last name.

Please note that due to the scheduling for the interpreters, some families will need to move to the front of the line during arena conferences for interpretation.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility in this matter.

How it works:

  1. Time Slots: Based on your child’s last name.
  2. Short Conferences: Approx. 5 minutes with each teacher to share strengths and areas of growth.
  3. Family Input: Share your child’s strengths, needs, and interests.

Last names A-J:

  • 11/21: 4:30-6 p.m.
  • 11/25: 3:30-5 p.m.
  • 11/26: 8:30-10 a.m.

Last names K-Z:

  • 11/21: 6:30-8 p.m.
  • 11/25: 1:30-3 p.m.

PTSA Announcements and Events

Give Back to our Wolf Pack! Join us in supporting Hazel Wolf students with our 2024-2025 direct appeal fundraiser, the Blue Envelope Campaign! The PTSA works closely with parents, staff and community members to serve the needs of ALL Hazel Wolf students. Your generous donation supports the following ($ amounts show 2024-25 school year PTSA contributions):

Staff Grants: $36,800

Tutoring: $22,500

Enrichment Activities and Overnight Trips: $20,000

Community Events: $13,050

Kindergarten Jump Start: $7,500

Basic Needs: Varies each year.

The first 50 donors will each get a prize. Look out for your Blue Envelope Packet (coming home soon), which includes a fun way for students to get involved too! Learn more and donate here: hazelwolfk8.org/2024-blue-envelope/

Are you connected with any businesses that want to sponsor our 2024 direct appeal? Many sponsor tiers are available, and they come with great perks – like a company logo on our Spirit Gear t-shirts! Please reach out to fundraising@hazelwolfk8.org with your connections, or for more information.

Thank you for supporting our recent Ridwell Plastic Film Recycling Drive! All donated film has been collected and is on its way to becoming Trex decking planks! Please consider supporting this school campaign further by becoming a Ridwell member. When 10 families sign up for Ridwell doorstep pickup by December 15th using this school drive link, our school earns plastic film pickup all spring! And when 20 families join, our school earns a field trip to the Ridwell warehouse!

We also want to say a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in our Winter Clothing and Ski Swap on Saturday, November 2nd, and give a grateful shout out to all who volunteered their time to help make it happen! 2024 was by far the best year yet, raising the largest amount for our PTSA and school in the three years we’ve held this event. Here’s to warm families and a great ski season!
