Also, thank you in advance to the PTSA for providing dinner to staff on November 21st. That is an evening when teachers are conducting conferences into the evening, so thank you for taking care of dinner for us!

Picture re-takes and 8th-grade pictures: Yuen Lui Studio will photograph makeup/retake portraits and Hazel Wolf K-8 on Tuesday, November 19
Makeup portraits: all 8th grade students and students who missed picture day should plan on getting a portrait taken on November 19. Families can preorder makeup portraits by 11/18 here: 2024-25 Hazel Wolf K-8 School Make-up/ Retake Pre-payments 11/19. Print portraits will be shipped to the school in approximately three weeks after makeup/retake day; digital portraits will be sent via email.
Retake portraits:
- Please let your student’s teacher know if you would like them to see the photographer for a retake portrait
- Anyone is welcome to get a retake (please note that the retake portrait will replace the picture day portrait for PowerSchool and the yearbook)
- Students who preordered picture day packets can return their package to the photographer in exchange for a retake – a new package of the retake image for all returned packages will be issued at no charge. Retake replacement orders will be shipped to the school.
Picture day portraits: all portraits previously photographed can be accessed via our website: Order School Photos — Yuen Lui School & Sports Photograph. The keyword is Hazel Wolf and images are password protected by an online code, which is your student’s SPS ID number. All portraits that require an online code are shipped directly to your home in 10-14 business days after the order is placed.

PTSA Announcements and Events
We are Curious! Our Blue Envelope Campaign Continues This Week. Your support for this year’s Direct Appeal helps support curiosity through access to Outdoor Education, Staff/Classroom Grants and Jump Start. With Staff/Classroom Grants, the PTSA is able to give every full-time teacher at Hazel Wolf a classroom grant of $400, allowing them to enhance the learning experience of their curious students. The grant can be used for academic curriculum, classroom supplies, engaging books/software, and website or magazine subscriptions. Staff grants also support the Engineering, Art, Music, Drama, and Physical Education programs.
Your monetary support makes these programs happen! Plus, the first 50 people to donate get a prize! Learn more about Blue Envelope Campaign and donate.
Thank you to our Blue Envelope sponsors: Childish Things, Emerald City Boxing Club, Endeavor One, Vitalitree, and Woolly Clothing Co.
E-STEM ACTIVITIES
There’s still time to support our recycling efforts by becoming a Ridwell member. When 10 families sign up for Ridwell doorstep pickup by December 15th using this school drive link, our school earns plastic film pickup all spring. And when 20 families join, our school earns a field trip to the Ridwell warehouse!
TerraCycle School Recycling Drive, now through Apr. 30th, 2025
We have launched a school drive with TerraCycle, a leader in recycling hard-to-recycle materials. We are collecting four categories: drink pouches & straws, squeezable pouches & caps, oral care, and air care products. See what items can be collected here. Please bring your items to the labeled recycle bins by the school entrance.
Questions about our E-STEM activities? Email parent volunteer Koko at peculiaromen@gmail.com.
Volunteering
Staff Appreciation Breakfast, Dec. 10th, 7:30-8:45am

We’re still in need of 8th Grade Parent Reps to help keep communication flowing between teachers and families. Please sign up to be an 8th Grade Parent Rep.
