Message from Dr. Breuder:

Snow Days? Seattle Public Schools, including Hazel Wolf K-8, are preparing for the possibility of remote learning in the case of a snow day. If there is a snow day, school will start two hours late.  (If there is more than one snow day, then the second day and any days following will be the normal school schedule.)

  • K-5 Schedule:
    • 10:55: Log into Teams link from classroom teacher.  Teachers will provide schedules for each class.
    • K-5 Specialists (PE, Music, Art, Engineering): Specialists will send Teams link to families and also to homeroom teachers.  Classes will meet with Specialists at the regularly assigned time.
  • Middle School Schedule:
  • 3rd: 10:55-11:50
  • Lunch: 11:50-12:25
  • 4th: 12:30-1:26
  • 5th: 1:29-2:25
  • 6th: 2:28-3:25

Black History Month and Black Lives Matter at Schools week: This week is recognized as Black Lives Matter at School (BLMAS) Week of Action.  This week is recognized as an opportunity for our students and community to continue to learn in alignment with the guiding principles of the BLMAS movement, and to act in ways that disrupt and transform the harmful legacies of racism and anti-Blackness in our schools.  Seattle Public Schools affirms the rights of all Black students, staff, families, and community partners to experience safety, joy, and a sense of belonging in our schools and beyond.   Our staff is committed to ongoing work around racial equity at Hazel Wolf K-8, and we continue to intentionally plan for discussions and activities that support the racial identity development of our students….and ourselves.  Teachers will be communicating with families about discussions and activities, so you can follow up at home with your child.

Registration and Open Enrollment: Registration for new students in SPS is currently open for the 2025-26 school year.  If you have an incoming student that is not currently registered for school in SPS, please go ahead and register.

Additionally, Open Enrollment for School Choice is open February 1-28.  This is a time for families to participate in the School Choice process, which is applying for a different school than the one where your child is assigned.

Multilingual Family Enrollment Night 2025

The time for new students to register to attend Hazel Wolf for the 2025-2026 school year is coming up soon!  The window to submit a CHOICE FORM application for an Option School is February 1 through February 28.  We want to reach out and give a special welcome to families who may be new to the country and who speak languages other than English.  Do you or your relatives, neighbors, or friends speak a language other than English and are interested in enrolling at Hazel Wolf?  If you do, contact Rachel Projansky at raprojansky@seattleschools.org and the Multilingual Team will respond.

Multilingual Enrollment Night is Thursday, February 6th from 5:30-7:30 in the Hazel Wolf Library. Multilingual families enrolling new students are invited to come to get computer access, help from interpreters, enrollment specialists and staff.
