Message from Dr. Breuder:

Hazel Wolf’s birthday: Our school is named for social activist, Hazel Wolf.  Her birthday is Monday, March 10th; she would be 126 on this day.  Hazel Wolf was a social justice activist who lived in Seattle for most of her life.  She received numerous awards for her activism over the years.  Students will learn more about Hazel Wolf this week at school.  Happy birthday, Hazel Wolf! 😊

Budget/staffing process for 2025-26 school year: As part of our staffing allocations for next year, we have reductions in middle school, multilingual, and specialist staffing.  While we are still working through the impacts of these reductions, we know this will impact the course offerings for middle school, class sizes, and supports for students next year.  We are doing our best to maintain as much as we can, but we do need to accommodate for the reductions in allocations.  Stay tuned for more information, as we are in the middle of this process, so things are still in process.
