Message from Dr. Breuder:
It is hard to believe it is already mid-May! This time of year is always so busy. We have so many activities and events in the coming weeks! Classroom teachers send out grade-level specific events, but please also watch the calendar for all-school events! As we close out the last weeks of the year, we are also doing a lot of forward-planning for next year. Some of the things that we are working on include, but are not limited to, electing ASB (Associated Student Body) officers for next year’s student leadership team, confirming course offerings for middle school so students can fill out input surveys, initial class placements for grades 1-5,summer and fall events, planning professional development for the staff,
Student Info and Family Input: This optional input form was sent to families in grades K-4 last week as an optional space for you to provide input about your child as we consider class placements for next year. Please make sure to turn in this form by Friday, May 30th.
E-STEM Night and Musical Showcase (June 12th): We are looking forward to our E-STEM Night and Musical Showcase on June 12th! The E-STEM part of this evening will take place from 5:30-6:30pm, and the Musical Showcase will start at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. The Musical Showcase will include performances from our middle school band and orchestra, as well as the students participating in Elementary Instrumental Music (EIM).
Volunteer Orientations: We have two remaining Volunteer Orientations for the school year. Please make sure you attend one of these orientations, as it is a required step in the volunteer clearance process. These meetings are on Teams.
- Monday, May 19th at 5:00pm
- Wednesday, June 4th at 9:30am

Message from Mr. Zetterberg:
Book Bonanza will take place June 9-13 in the Library.
- Book Donation: Do you have gently used picture books, early readers, chapter books, or Young Adult novels you no longer need? Donate them to the Book Bonanza! The Hazel Wolf library will begin accepting book donations starting June 2.
- Book Bonanza: As a result of generous donations from PTSA, the community, and student families, this free event allows all K-8 students to select books to keep! Classes will browse the HUGE selection of books June 9-13 during class library times, lunch recesses, and before and after school. Friday afternoon we will encourage students to revisit the Bonanza and select more books to ensure families have enough to read all summer! There is an opportunity to help with setup and cleanup for this event.

Message from Ms. Sullivan:
Field Day Volunteer Sign-Up: Field Day is Friday, June 13th! We are running 4 sessions with less stations, but more space and crowd favorite activities to take advantage of that space. Below is the link to sign up as a volunteer during each grade levels’ session. Ms. Sullivan and Ms. Jackson will be checking to make sure you are cleared to volunteer for that day. If your volunteer clearance will expire Before June 13th, please renew it ASAP! The deadline to sign up is Friday, May 30th, so that we can clear everyone 2 weeks ahead of the event as per SPS policy.
The link below will take you to the sign-up for the Field Day sessions. Please email Ms. Sullivan rasullivan@seattleschools.org for any questions, and volunteer clearance questions to Ms. Jackson yljackson@seattleschools.org.
