Message from Dr. Breuder:

All School Announcements

Happy December! It is so hard to believe we are already at the beginning of December! I love this time of year, as there are lots of family traditions that happen for my children and for me.  I love to see the holiday lights, and my kids and I have gone to see the drive-thru lights at Spanaway Park.  (I am a bit of a cold-wimp, and don’t love to walk around to see the lights….I am a ride-in-my-car kind of light spectator.  😊)  This year, both my teenagers are now driving, so I can be a passenger and enjoy the lights without having to focus on driving.

This time of year can also bring challenges and stress.  While I might paint a happy picture of my children and I enjoying the holiday lights, I know there is also anxiety during this time for many people (including my own family).  At school, there is a lot happening, as we wrap up the first trimester (for elementary students) and continue on with the second quarter (for middle school students).  These next two weeks will be busy before we head off for Winter Break.  Teachers are working very hard to keep students engaged in content and important learning, while there is a two-week break just a head of us, which can bring about many emotions.  We try to keep things as routine and predictable as possible, especially during these times, as that structure is so important for children.

Thank you for your continued partnership with our staff.
