Message from Dr. Breuder:

Volunteer Orientation: I am changing the next Volunteer Orientation to Tuesday, March 26th, at 5:00pm(This means we will NOT have an orientation on April 2nd.)  I am changing this to help provide one more opportunity for the chaperones to that are going to Nature Bridge (5th & 8th-grades) to attend this orientation.  Please plan to attend this orientation if you have not yet attended and are chaperone for Nature Bridge.

HWK8 Volunteer Orientation

Budget/staffing: The budget and staffing plan for Hazel Wolf has been approved for the next school year.  This process was very challenging, due to the reductions in staffing and reductions in discretionary dollars for next year. I believe we have created an equitable budget and staffing plan for next year, given the resources we have available.  We were able to maintain many of our important programs, along with middle school course offerings.  In the next few months (before the end of the school year), we will provide more information to our middle school students (and families) about those course offerings and the process for selecting classes for next year.  We are also continuing our partnership and collaboration with the PTSA to help support the school, as we know there are gaps that the PTSA has helped fill for many years.  We feel so fortunate to have this continued partnership.

Outdoor Education Survey: The ESTEM committee is trying to get community feedback about outdoor camp experiences at Hazel Wolf.  Please fill out the following survey to provide your input.

PTSA Announcements and Events

ADHD Parent Group Meeting with Guest Speaker Bethany Febus:  Hazel Wolf’s ADHD Parent Group would like to invite the community to its first educational program on April 25th at 6pm. Our meeting will feature guest speaker  Bethany Febus, ACCG, PCC, PCAC, professional certified life coach (accredited by the ICF and PAAC) who specializes in ADHD and executive function. Febus will give us an overview of ADHD, describe its impacts at home and school, and offer some helpful tips and strategies to make life smoother for anyone who teaches or cares for a child with ADHD. Febus has ADHD herself, so she understands the topic on a very personal level. Would she trade out her ADHD brain for another? She says she wouldn’t: “I am grateful for my curious, determined, passionate, playful, open mind.” Even if your child doesn’t have ADHD, you probably know someone who does. All are welcome to come, enjoy refreshments, and learn a little bit more about ADHD. If you are interested in more information, please email luschyler@gmail.com
